Build

App & Game Development

Android apps and casual games, built, monetised and taken through Google Play review — including our own.

The problem

Two things cost more time than the build on almost every app project, and neither is the code. The first is the Play Console: data safety, target API levels, closed testing, policy reviews. The second is monetisation that fails quietly — an ad that does not fill, and holds the user while it retries.

What we do
  • Android apps — native Kotlin and Java, and Flutter where cross-platform makes sense
  • Casual games — arcade, puzzle and endless formats, built light so they install and run on mid-range devices
  • Backend — Firebase authentication, Realtime Database, Cloud Messaging and Remote Config, or custom APIs on Cloudflare Workers
  • Monetization — AdMob and Google Ad Manager, including rewarded and interstitial formats and app-ads.txt
  • Publish and grow — Play Console setup in your name, data-safety and content declarations, staged rollouts, and install campaigns reported on cost and retention rather than downloads alone
  • HTML5 games for publishers — lightweight browser games with ads built in, for sites that want session time and revenue without a store listing
  • Store optimisation — listing, icon and screenshot testing

A rewarded ad that blocks the user is worse than no rewarded ad

None of the Play Console work is hard, but all of it is specific, and a wrong answer in a form costs you a review cycle.

Monetization fails more quietly. A rewarded ad that does not fill, and that holds the user while it retries, costs more retention than it earns in revenue. We build the no-fill path first — a few silent retries, then move on — because the user should never be stuck waiting on an ad that is not coming.

After the build

Publishing and user acquisition

A finished app that nobody installs is a finished project, not a product. The second half of the work is the Play Console — set up in your name, with the declarations filled in the way reviewers read them — and then paid acquisition: Google App campaigns and Meta app installs, measured on cost per retained user rather than cost per install.

Because we run our own titles, we know what a healthy day-one retention looks like for a casual game, and when an install price is a bargain or a leak.

HTML5 games

For publishers who want a game without a store: browser-based H5 games that load inside your site, keep readers on the page and carry rewarded and interstitial formats on your own Ad Manager network. No install, no review cycle, your traffic stays yours.

How we work on it
  1. Scope

What the app does, on which devices, and what it must not do.

  2. Build

In short passes, with each one testable.

  3. Monetise

Formats chosen so they do not damage retention.

  4. Release

    Listing, declarations, staged rollout.

  5. Iterate

Store listing and retention reviewed against the numbers.

In writing

What you get

  • A working app, signed release builds and the source in a repository you own
  • Integrated services: Firebase, analytics, ads and payments as agreed
  • A submitted Play listing with data-safety declarations and a staged rollout
  • User-acquisition campaigns set up and reported on install, cost and retention
  • Maintenance releases within the agreed period

Outside our control

  • Play review, approval, ranking and availability — Google decides
  • Third-party SDK behaviour and platform changes after release
  • iOS and other platforms unless scoped separately
  • Install volume and cost — they depend on the app, the budget and the competition

Scope, deliverables, timelines and fees go in writing before work starts. Ad spend, platform fees and third-party subscriptions are billed separately from our fee.

Who this is for

Businesses that need an Android app built properly, developers with an app that needs taking over, and anyone who wants ads added to a live app without wrecking retention.

Questions

Do you build for iOS?

We build cross-platform with Flutter where the project suits it. Our deep experience is Android.

Can you take over an existing app?

Yes, provided we can see the source. We will audit it and tell you honestly whether to continue it or rebuild.

Will you handle the Play Store submission?

Yes, including listing assets, policy declarations and staged rollout.

Do you run install campaigns too?

Yes — Google App campaigns and Meta app installs, set up with the events that matter (a level completed, a purchase) rather than installs alone, and reported on cost per retained user.

What is an H5 game and why would a publisher want one?

A game that runs in the browser, inside your site, with no install. It keeps visitors on the page longer and carries your own ad units, so it adds session time and revenue to inventory you already own.

Can you add ads to an app we already have live?

Yes, with AdMob or Ad Manager, and with the formats chosen so they do not damage retention.
